I just got Suse installed on an Ultra60 with only one major issue. I tried to install it using Ext3 and I kept getting errors like:

 "Could mount partition /dev/sda4 on /mnt..." or "Could mount partition /dev/sda1 on /mnt/boot..." 

It would then say it's best to reboot unless I knew what I was doing. So I said what the heck and just continued. It actually installed, but said it could not write SILO into the boot sector. I started poking around and found that SILO does not support the Ext3 filesystem. Changing it to Ext2 worked like a champ.
